FairField Center hires a new director for Harrisonburg International Festival

The FairField Center is pleased to announce Mr. Boris Ozuna as the new Director for the Harrisonburg International Festival. The Festival takes place annually on the last Saturday in September. Ozuna takes over as Ms. Vaunda Brown retires after 17 years of exemplary service as Festival Coordinator.
Festival Director: Boris Ozuna is originally from Sincelejo, a small city in the Caribbean Coast of Colombia. He came to the United States as an international student to study at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) where he obtained his B.A. He has worked in Washington D.C. in the areas of family literacy and homelessness. Currently he is pursuing a graduate degree at the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at EMU. Before coming to the United States, Ozuna conducted studies in Bible and Religion and worked at various non-profits organizations in areas of popular education and community organizing. Ozuna is excited to be working in the area of intercultural education and art, both of which he sees as facilitating creativity.
A Community Event: Harrisonburg International Festival is one of the top three annual events in our locality. The Festival depends on the hard work, time, energy and creativity of hundreds of volunteers each year. As such, it belongs to the community and Mr. Ozuna looks forward to serving the community in his work with all the gifted and generous volunteers who make the Festival happen.
