Timothy J. Ruebke, Executive Director

Currently certified to mentor-mediate civil and family circuit court cases, Tim has worked at Fairfield Center since 1992 and has completed 1500 cases in general, family, criminal, and complex organizational / multi-party issues. He is also a certified trainer and has taught ADR courses for James Madison University and Eastern Mennonite University as an adjunct faculty member. He is an advanced practitioner member of the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) and a previous board member of the Virginia Mediation Network (VMN) and of the Restorative Justice Association of Virginia (RJAV). Tim has a BS in Social Work and an MA in Conflict Transformation from Eastern Mennonite University.

Aaron Hagmaier, Director of Mediation Services

Aaron Hagmaier oversees the Fairfield Center’s mediation services, including case management.

Tom Brenneman, Director of Advancement & Development

Tom joined the staff at Fairfield Center in August of 2008. He has served as a conciliation specialist working with faith communities, social services, law enforcement and judiciaries in the field of restorative justice and peacebuilding since 1992. Working largely in the American Southwest, Tom holds an undergraduate degree in social work from Eastern Mennonite University and an MA in sociology  from American University. He has extensive experience as a mediator and program manager with dispute resolution programs serving Court referred disputes in civil, small claims and restorative justice and community conflicts through community mediation programs.

Kai Degner, Director of Business Services

Kai coordinates Fairfield Center’s  facilitation services and teaches Listening 101. He has been on the steering committee for the National Conference on Dialogue and Deliberation, is founder of The OrangeBand Initiative, and currently mayor of Harrisonburg. He has coordinated over 300 community dialogues and forums, including one on C-SPAN. He is skilled in applying a combination of innovative meeting and conference techniques designed to allow for rich participation, creative exploration, and effective decision-making. These include Open Space, World Cafe, Dynamic Facilitation, and more. He has an undergraduate degree in Integrated Science and Technology and a Masters in Business Administration from James Madison University.

Rosie Riggleman, Executive Assistant

Rosie joined the staff at Fairfield Center in fall 2005 as Executive Assistant for administrative support to the Executive Director. Her responsibilities include administering Fairfield Center’s training programs, bookkeeping, and coordinating agency activities.
